Ruby Island, also known as Mātakitak in Maori is great option if you have limited time and want to get out on the water, and see Wanaka from a different perspective. Perfect for families. Sail, then enjoy a walk and picnic on the island or use the time to get further out into the lake. It's your call. Don't forget your togs! Let us know if you want us to supply the picnic. LEARN TO SAIL: You can learn the basics in a just a few hours. Randall is an experienced and passionate instructor who make sailing fun and easy to understand. You’ll have a working understanding of sailing theory and parts of the boat, points of sail, adjusting the sails and taking the helm! We’ll even have time to learn some knots and put up the spinnaker if weather permits. (Price listed is for up to 4 people. Each add'l person $55.
