Do I need any sailing experience? No experience needed. Our skipper will handle the boat. If you’d like to take a hand at steering, pulling a line, or learn more about sailing, he’ll be happy to show you the ropes. If you’re already a sailor, he’ll make tea.
-
Where do we sail? Our Ruby Island cruise sails across Roys Bay and into the main part of the lake. Half and full day charters, weather depending, explore secluded beaches and mountain views at Bishop’s Bay, Glendu Bay, Dublin Bay and on to Mou Tapu and Moe Waho Islands.

What can we expect with the wind?Afternoons tend to be windier, mornings calmer. Spring can be windy. If you’re looking for a more relaxed sail & having a picnic on board, choose a calmer or moderate day. If you want more of an adrenaline rush, riding the wind and waves, let us know. The skipper will check the wind and weather and let you know the best time to go depending on what your interests are. We keep a close eye on the wind and tend to play it conservatively with the weather.

What do I need to bring?A sun hat, sun screen, soft soled non-marking (preferably white soled) shoes, a windproof jacket and comfortable clothing. Don’t forget your camera and swimming gear! Water, tea, coffee, cheese and biscuits are provided.

Where do we meet? The yacht will be waiting for you at 99 Lakeside Road, at the big new marina dock, to the right of the boat ramp. It’s a short walk to the right, from the “log cabin” and “Dinosaur Park”, on the waterfront in town.
